Facing locking mechanism, lift lock wire from notched pressure bar and slide gate toward open position until rubber bumpers contact doorway or hallway surface (27” – 41”) (68cm-104cm).

Align lock wire with notch in straight up position, count four notches to left (toward plastic latch) and make a distinctive pencil mark on notched bar.

Release plastic latch by pulling upward on finger grip.

Raise notched bar at until lock wire fits in notch marked with pencil. Push down on notched pressure bar until gate expands and applies pressure to doorway or hallway.

Push plastic latch down until it locks firmly into place over bottom pressure bar. Be sure gate is secure by giving top of gate a push - pull action. Gate should feel tightly in position. If gate feels loose, release plastic latch and advance lock wire to next notch on pressure bar and repeat locking procedure
